On the real, DJing at thePeople = one of the best nights I've ever had.  To play 3 hours of my favorite music the way I wanted to and have the crowd be right there with me?  As a DJ that's really the ultimate.  I really gotta give it up to Amy, Cali, Cecil and Melissa Rae (thePeople).  They've been putting it down for yeeeaarrs. I'm was just happy to be a part of it.

Since then the feedback I've gotten has been amazing.  Ugh!  THANK YOU BAY AREA!! S/O to everyone who came out and danced with us!!!

Your boy Eddie Huang is back in the Bay today doing an interview at Omnivore Books SF (mission).  Just finished his memoir Fresh Off the Boat.  Dude. I'm not sure if I've ever read anything as open and honest about growing up in the 90's as a Chinese/American hip hop head and trying to figure things out.  From music to meeting up to your parents expectations...some of that shit hits almost too close to home.  Add it to the shelf right up on the shelf next to Bomb the Suburbs, No More Prisons and the Wax Poetics collection.

R&B in 2013. Helluva time.  I remember hearing DJ Eko's Soultronica mix last year and going "okay, it's not just me, something's going on out there and I like it!" R&B w/ electronic elements?  I'm down.

It's been a year since Soultronica dropped but artists & producers are still pushing it.  As always folks out there are concerned about what to call it (see above video).  R&B? Electronic? Uh PBR&B?? Whatever you wanna call it I say we chill off the labels for a minute & enjoy some good music  =)
